Political Tag Clouds

FDR’s “On the Currency Situation” (Sunday, October 22, 1933)

Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Fourth Fireside Chat. Part of our Fireside Chat Project, you can see the others here.

Original text can be found at http://www.mhric.org/fdr/chat4.html

Process notes: tag cloud created using wordle.net. United States changed to UnitedStates, $ or dollar changed to dollars, % or per cent changed to percent, and NRA changed to National Recovery Administration (mainly because modern readers might have identified it as National Rifle Association).

  1. Actually, readers back in the 1930s might have confused the two! For a time back there, BOTH NRAs were officed in the same DC building. Every day after mail delivery they got together to exchange the mail that had been wrongly delivered. The National Recovery Administrative gave the other NRA all the mail it had received about guns, and the National Rifle Association gave it all the mail it had received about the economic situation.
